I have generally been a pretty active person during my schooling and university days. However post-graduation, coupled with heartbreaks and the rigours of work life, exercising took a back seat and I started drinking frequently.
I was drinking two to three times a week and staying up till wee hours of the morning. Somewhere in April this year, I realised this was not the life I wanted to lead. I was getting unhealthier by the day and to think that I had just joined the workforce, if I continued this bad habit of drinking, eating unhealthily (fast food joints and local fare), and sleeping at odd hours, it would definitely take a toll on my health many years down the road.
I decided to make a 360-degree change in my lifestyle and started waking up to hit the gym an hour before work. Post-work drinks were replaced with yoga classes and I tried to bring packed lunch to work whenever it was feasible.
Since then, I’ve been addicted to yoga and even HIIT too. I still indulge in my guilty pleasures once in a while, but being fit and active has made me a happier and much more confident person!
