Runity x ROCKrunners: How to run pain-free

Running is one of the most natural movements we can do, yet injury rates are through the roof with the majority of runners having an injury that affects their training in some way every year. Sometimes these injuries put people off running altogether.

So if our bodies are built to run, why do we get injured so much? The simple answer is - poor running efficiency and loading of the tissues (muscles, joints etc).  With proper conditioning and an efficient running technique however, your body not only copes with the strain, but also improves your running speed and endurance.

Conducted by Daniel Dittmar, Asia's first Runity master trainer, this workshop will give you an overview of the theory why we get injured and the different elements of our running technique that can be changed with some simple strategies. There will also be a practical movement session with exercises and drills to improve your running performance and get you running pain free.

Who the workshop is for:
  • People who would like to get into running and want to start correctly
  • Recreational or seasoned runners who want to improve their running efficiency and run injury free
  • Time: 7.30am - 9.30am
Venue : The Autobus, 6A Shenton Way #01-01, Downtown Gallery, Singapore 068815
    Price: Free

    • Many people often think that staying on and tolerating is actually being strong; but no strength is in standing up for yourself and walking away from it all. #rockthenakedtruth
    • Janet Koh (right) chanced upon our IG post last year about Project Training Wheels, a sponsored programme by @ocbccycle to teach chosen participants how to cycle. She and her running buddy Jolynn (left) made it through the interviews and went on to successfully complete the programme.
They took part in their first cycling event ever, the 23km ride at last year’s OCBC Cycle. Janet has gone on to take swimming lessons and recently completed her first aquathlon.
Though she’s in her 40s and a mother of one, she feels that no one is too old to start a new sport. Her goal is to take part in a triathlon one day. Read our blog for more of her story:

This class will take you through a series of specialist RUNITY conditioning exercises and drills to improve your running efficiency, similar to those that were talked about during the workshop. These exercises aim to condition your feet, hips, spine and running skill in ways to keep you injury free and achieving the goal of running pain free at your own pace.
