lululemon x Rock The Naked Truth: Jazzy Tasdelen

Jasmine Tasdelen (more fondly known as Jazzy) has been struggling with her body literally her whole life, but she is not letting herself wallow in self-pity for too long. From attempting suicide twice in her teenage years, to contracting polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and endometriosis, as well as lupus, Jazzy always led an active lifestyle.

Getting pregnant was a challenge for her because of her hormonal conditions and it took her seven years to finally conceive and give birth to a beautiful baby boy.

Before giving birth to Brody last year, Jazzy had a personal trainer, lifted weights, went stand-up paddle boarding, running, and did Pilates, yoga, body combat and spinning.

What she struggled most with, was finding activewear to suit her lifestyle. “My struggles in finding activewear began 10 years ago when I moved to Singapore and no major brands were doing plus-sized fitness clothes. I also experienced nasty incidents at stores,” said the 39-year-old.

“I’ve struggled with weight my whole life and now I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been in my life due to childbirth and knee and hip injuries. I’ve just been cleared to start working out again, but I still have to order my workout clothes online as there is nowhere in Singapore I could walk in and try clothes on in my size – until @lululemonsg, who now have sizes 0 to 20.

“I can honestly say I had the most pleasant shopping experience that I’ve ever had in Singapore due to my size. Fitness brands should be inclusive as bigger people should be able to feel good and sexy when they workout too!”
