Susan Low: Stop making excuses

I used to be very active during my secondary school days – running, netball and mandatory fitness tests kept me skinny.

Then complacency kicked in when I started working.

I gave plenty of excuses and often used “No time” became my biggest downfall. In 2013, I ballooned to almost 70kg for my height of 158cm. My family and friends all noticed my massive weight gain. Despite knowing I had to lose weight, I did not know how. I started running without proper training which turned out bad!

My self-confidence took a plunge and I felt ugly from within.

With encouragement from a friend though, I took up personal training and have been training for 2 years. To date, I have lost 13kg without having to watch my diet too strictly.

I am now going into my next phase of training, but with a proper diet! A journey of thousand miles begins with the first step…
