"I am just a shy girl-next-door who does her usual runs around the neighbourhood. Although shy, I adopt an enthusiastic personality and I love to try new things.
I decided to join ROCKrunners, stepping out of my comfort zone to do so and I'm glad I did. I made new friends who are like-minded and lovable. The positivity from the community keeps me going!
This has been the most fulfilling and satisfying choice I've ever made.
Running with a group of people makes me feel motivated and time passes quicker compared to my usual solo runs. It has helped me to improve in my fitness journey (especially running) too.
We hold shared interests, encouraging each other while working towards our individual goals at the same time. I feel loved and this huge sense of belonging from this precious #ROCKfam. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ I am not in this alone.
It has boosted my confidence in terms of sharing with others about my struggles, on top of exchanging thoughts and common topics. It has also helped me to stay consistent and I look forward to seeing them every week!
I always believe that we should stop wishing and start doing. Persist until success happens because if not now, then when? I hope that someday I will be able to inspire someone out there too!"

  • Janet Koh (right) chanced upon our IG post last year about Project Training Wheels, a sponsored programme by @ocbccycle to teach chosen participants how to cycle. She and her running buddy Jolynn (left) made it through the interviews and went on to successfully complete the programme.
They took part in their first cycling event ever, the 23km ride at last year’s OCBC Cycle. Janet has gone on to take swimming lessons and recently completed her first aquathlon.
